Respiratory follow-up of patients with COVID-19 pneumonia

The clinical manifestations of SARS-Cov-2 infection vary, ranging from asymptomatic carriage to atypical pneumonia, a hyperinflammatory phenotype, respiratory failure and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). An unexpectedly high prevalence of venous thromboembolic (VTE) disease and pulmonary embolism (PE) has become apparent and this is an important consideration for acute management and subsequent follow-up.
